Meet Our Staff
Meet Katelyn, DC2B
I'm currently attending graduate school at Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina. With just over a year left, you'll see me working in the office when I'm home on break. Working at Balanced Living Chiropractic Wellness in Amherst has been the most rewarding experience thus far in my life. I get to see first hand how people get results from their chiropractic care, including myself.
I have been receiving chiropractic care since I was eight years old after being knocked around from a school bus accident. Thankfully, my parents were smart enough to take me to a see a chiropractor. Since then I have continued care because of the great results I get anywhere from being stressed out from university life, to improved physical well being.
In 2003, while going to the University of Buffalo, the time had come to think about what I wanted to do with my life professionally. I knew that I had to pick a major. I had always thought about being a doctor of chiropractic and wondered what it would be like to be one. So when Dr. Kevin and Dr. Steve were hiring an afternoon chiropractic assistant I jumped at the opportunity and I knew this would be a great way for me get the experience I needed while finishing up my bachelors degree in science at UB.
Soon I will have more big decisions to make in choosing which chiropractic college to attend.
When I am not in the office, I am involved in many activities. I volunteer at the Buffalo Museum of Science at their camp-in program where I enjoy teaching kids about science and the many interesting and amazing things about the stars and planets.
Hobbies & Activities: I enjoy swimming laps and playing volleyball. I especially like taking care of my dog Caroline.
Meet Amanda, DC2B
I'm currently interning at the New York Chiropractic College Outpatient Clinic in Depew, New York and working, part-time, at Balanced Living Chiropractic Wellness. I started off my undergraduate career at the University at Buffalo pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy; over the past few years I came to the realization that PT wasn’t the career for me. I learned that chiropractic care had more to offer people with a wide variety of health concerns. This is something I firmly believe in, and see proof of every day at the office. I started receiving Chiropractic care and so far it’s done wonders for me! It makes me wonder why I waited so long to start care!
I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to shadow Dr. Steve and Dr. Kevin March 2006 as I was researching a career as a doctor of chiropractic. Meeting them, and being in the office, was just a perfect fit for me. Being at Balanced Living Chiropractic Wellness as a Chiropractic Intern is quite challenging. Aside from starting off with front office work and patient services, the doctors have taught me a lot about health how the body works and that people seek out care for wellness and relief, furthering my interest in the field.
I am accepted at New York Chiropractic College and will be moving to Seneca Falls New York in the fall of 2007.
A little bit about me… I was born in Michigan and moved to Buffalo with my family when I was about four years old, and thus far most of my traveling has been to Michigan to visit the rest of my family. I am planning a trip next summer so see some of the states in the Western United States to expand the list of states I’ve been to.
I’m extremely proud of my height, measuring 6’ ¼” making it no surprise that the most common question I’ve been asked throughout my life is; “Do you play Basketball?” Everyone always seems so let down when I tell them the answer is no, I prefer to swim.
Outside of working with our doctors, my hobbies include being with my family and special times my mom. I also enjoy, cooking and baking for others, swimming, and singing in the Buffalo Schwaben Choir.
The Schwaben Choir (http://www.nyssb.org/BSC.htm) recently competed in a tri-annual competition, called Sangerfest in Binghamton, New York and placed first in the Women’s and Mixed Competition! I also make sure I have time to watch my favorite show, “House,” every Tuesday night at 9pm!

I love chiropractic adjustments. I am in my 60's and do my best to keep up with the world. I really enjoy filling in at Balanced Living Chiropractic Wellness when needed. I also help out as a receptionist greeting people at McAuley Residence.
It's so cool watching people smile and feel good about themselves after being checked for subluxations and receiving spinal adjustments. Meeting people and sharing our lives is very satisfying. I first became acquainted with chiropractic when my son now, Dr. Steve, managed a large chiropractic office.
It was in the early 1990's. My husband George had health problems. His visits to the office were a blessing as they helped him function better while having serious health issues. So, I started getting adjusted also as I had severe headaches at the time. I was in my 50's and who could resist after seeing first hand the way my husband responded to care.
In 2001 an opportunity came for me to work for my son, Dr. Steve. I wanted to help be part of creating something wonderful, at a brand new chiropractic office.
Outside of work I enjoy swimming and walking along with traveling. The area casinos are also a fun pastime. I can hear the nickel slots calling me now! Aside from keeping my son in line, I love my cat's Albert (a.k.a. Fat Albert) and Einstein (a.k.a. Puffy) who by the way are very over the top spoiled.
Meet Adam
Well if you haven’t seen me in our Amherst office recently that’s because I am currently half way through earning my degree to be a doctor of chiropractic at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls New York. Here is a little about me. I recently got married to Kimberly McCormick Novemeber 2006. After honeymooning in Jamaica, Kim and I are back in Seneca Falls preparing for National Boards.
I am originally from a small town outside of Rochester called Hamlin and went to Brockport High School. I graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science in May of 2005.
My hobbies and activities include country music, wakeboarding, boating, snowmobiling, football, baseball, exercising and of course studying for school.
I was excited to have experience Balanced Living Chiropractic Wellness as an intern and by getting spinal adjustments to help me with stress, focus better and feel life more whether its flexibility, strength and mental well being. It also helped improve my posture while sitting and driving.
I decided to be become a doctor of chiropractic because I wanted to be involved in health care but only on a natural level, instead of having surgeries or taking a variety of medications.
Currently my goal and focus is to graduate from New York Chiropractic College and open a chiropractic office in New York State.
Right now I do not have any travel plans due to the rigorous pace of school. I do plan on seeing Europe at some point, but my next trip will definitely be to the Greek Isles!

There had to be a more natural way to health and wellness.
Well first let me begin by saying that I too am attending New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls New York.
I was fortunate enough to get accepted into an internship at Balanced Living Chiropractic Wellness, I heard that I had some be shoes to fill after being only there second Intern. Thankfully the University of Buffalo has extention faculty in my field of interest, being a doctor of chiropractic. I have found the experience at Balanced Living Chiropractic Wellness to be better than I could ever imagine.
From my first visit here I could see that both Dr. Kevin and Dr. Steve are eager to teach me, as well as their Western New York area patients, as much as they can about Chiropractic Wellness.
I decided on a to become doctor of chiropractic after a personal experience with natural medicine. After struggling with chronic fatigue for many years and not finding any answers or results with traditional medicine, I sought out the care of a Naturopathic doctor and a Chiropractor. Now, one year of being healthier than I thought I could be again, I see the value of natural health and wellness care. I only wish I had gotten here sooner and wish others would understand that its easier to take the steps to stay well than it is to get well.
I plan on graduating from NYCC with a degree in Chiropractic and the ability to teach others all I can about living and staying healthy.
When I’m not learning at Balanced Living Chiropractic Wellness, I am spending my time at the YMCA where I am a lifeguard.
I love to travel and am planning a trip to Europe in May of 2006 after graduating. I often visit my parents at home in Ellicottville, but never seem to get as much downhill skiing in as I would like!
Meet John
I am graduated chiropractic intern also away at Medical Scool in Syracuse New York.
I grew up in the Town of Lockport and attended Starpoint High School, where I graduated in 2002. I made the “long” journey to the University at Buffalo. There, I chose Exercise Science as my major due to its comprehensive teaching of how the body works. As an athlete all of my life, I have always been curious as to what was actually going on within my body. I continue to yearn for knowledge of how this wonderful body of ours operates.
Some of my current interests include exercising and watching movies. I’ve recently taken up racquetball, and if you have read Dr. Steve’s bio, you would know that he let me know he would kick my butt!
I’ve been volunteering as a coach for Special Olympics. This is one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling experiences I have ever been through. The true passion that these athletes express makes everything worthwhile. They recently competed in their Winter Games in Syracuse and they will soon be attending their Summer Games in Albany. The kids really love it and it is a great organization to get involved in if anyone ever gets the chance.
When interviewing for my internship, I wanted to find a place where I thought I would learn the most and be able to apply information into my own life. I have found this place at Balance Living Chiropractic Wellness. I was initially unaware of all the things that chiropractic had to offer. I don’t believe that the public has enough information about chiropractic care and I wanted to be able to better describe it to my friends and family. I have learned so much in my time here and I enjoy seeing the relief patients experience by getting spinal adjustments. The ambiance of the office makes it an enjoyable place to work, learn, and receive care.
I say received care because I am also a patient of Dr. Kevin and it has been a great experience. I thought myself to be a relatively healthy individual, but after seeing a few of our patients x-rays, I was wondering if I had any underlying problems that could be improved by chiropractic care.
For as long as I can remember, I have never been able to turn my neck to the left as well as I could turn it to my right. After a few adjustments, I just happened to notice one day that I could see much farther over my left shoulder. While this may not be a life altering improvement, it solidified in my mind the benefits of chiropractic.
If a healthy person can reap benefits, the possibilities are seemingly endless.
More about me, I have a turtle named Rocky and a Dalmatian Labrador mix named Abby.
